Meet the Artist

The Story: A Dialogue in Texture

This curated set explores the intersection of the organic and the geometric. Inspired by the concept of “The Golden Hour,” the paintings represent the fleeting moment when the sun hits ancient earth.
The heavy, metallic-toned impasto creates a “living” surface that changes as light moves across the room. The inclusion of geometric black crescents serves as a grounding element, representing the phases of the moon and the inevitable pull of shadow against the warmth of the sun. It is a visual representation of balance – soft vs. hard, light vs. dark, and raw texture vs. refined shape.

Technical Details:

Medium: Mixed media on canvas. Features heavy impasto textures, likely achieved through a mix of acrylic, marble dust, or molding paste.
Finish: A blend of oxidized bronze, burnt sienna, and metallic gold pigments. The surface is matte with selective metallic highlights that catch ambient light.
Dimensional Elements: The black semi-circles are 3D relief elements, potentially wood or high-density foam, providing a physical shadow play that elevates the piece from a flat painting to a sculptural installation.
Aesthetic Style: Organic Modern / Earthy Minimalist.

Design Pairing Recommendations:

Wall Backdrop: Works best on neutral or marbled textures (as seen in your photo) to allow the rich ochre tones to pop.
Lighting: Ideally paired with a warm-toned floor lamp (like the brass arc lamp pictured) to enhance the metallic leaf and depth of the texture.
Furniture: Complements “warm” materials like mustard velvet, cognac leather, or travertine stone.

Framing

Framing on Canvas

Enhance your artwork with our premium floating frame option, carefully selected to complement and elevate each canvas piece.

Our frames are crafted from 100% Australian-grown timber, offering an earthy, authentic finish that aligns beautifully with modern interior trends. Inspired by Scandinavian design principles, the clean lines and minimalist aesthetic create a refined look that suits a wide variety of spaces – from contemporary homes to professional environments.

The timber is sourced and processed in Australia from sustainably managed native forest plantations. It complies with the Australian Forestry Standard and Chain of Custody certifications, ensuring responsible and ethical sourcing. The collection features smooth, refined surfaces while retaining the natural character and warmth of Australian Oak.

Floating Frame Finish

For all framed canvas selections, we use a floating frame design. This style creates a subtle 5mm gap between the canvas artwork and the frame, giving the appearance that the artwork is “floating” within the frame. This modern presentation adds depth, dimension, and a gallery-quality finish to your piece.

Care Guide

Care Guide

Your M Terra piece has been carefully handcrafted and finished to be enjoyed for years to come. Each artwork is unique, hand-painted, and sealed with a protective finish.

Proper care will help preserve the colour, texture, and integrity of your piece so it can be enjoyed for many years.

Acrylic Paintings & Canvas

Display

To preserve the quality and colour of your artwork:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as UV light may gradually fade pigments over time.
  • Keep artworks away from heat sources such as radiators, fireplaces, or heating vents.
  • Avoid hanging artwork in areas with excessive humidity, such as bathrooms or damp spaces.
  • Where possible, display artwork in a stable indoor environment with moderate temperature and humidity.

Cleaning

To maintain the surface of your artwork:

  • Gently dust using a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
  • Do not use water, cleaning sprays, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these may damage the paint surface or protective finish.
  • Avoid rubbing or applying pressure to the painted surface.

If deeper cleaning is required, professional art cleaning or conservation services are recommended.

Handling

When moving or installing artwork:

  • Always hold the piece by the frame or outer edges.
  • Avoid touching the painted surface directly.
  • For unframed pieces, professional framing is recommended to help protect the edges and surface of the artwork.

Protective Finishes

Many M Terra artworks and decorative pieces are sealed with a protective varnish or finish designed to help reduce minor surface wear and preserve colour vibrancy.

While protective finishes provide an added layer of protection, they do not make artworks completely resistant to scratching, impact, or environmental conditions.

Storage

If you need to store your artwork:

  • Store upright rather than flat where possible
  • Keep in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight
  • Avoid stacking objects directly against the painted surface

Longevity

With appropriate care and handling, your M Terra artwork can maintain its beauty, finish, and vibrancy for many years.

Each item is a unique handcrafted creation, and slight variations or natural changes over time are part of the character of handmade art.

Care Disclaimer

Improper handling, installation, cleaning, or environmental exposure may result in damage to artworks.

M Terra cannot be responsible for damage that occurs after delivery due to misuse, accidental impact, improper care, or unsuitable display conditions.

This guide is provided to assist customers in maintaining their purchase but does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Artwork Authenticity & One-of-a-Kind Statement

At M Terra, we celebrate originality, craftsmanship, and artistic expression. Many of the pieces offered through our store are one-of-a-kind creations, carefully designed and crafted by artists and artisans.

Authenticity of Artwork

Each artwork and decorative piece sold by M Terra is created as an original work. Once sold, these pieces are generally not reproduced or restocked, making each purchase a unique addition to your home or collection.

Where applicable, artworks may include details regarding the artist, materials used, or the creative inspiration behind the piece.

Natural and Artistic Variations

Many M Terra products are handmade or hand-finished. As a result, variations may occur in:

  • Colour tones and shading
  • Brushwork or surface texture
  • Glaze finishes on ceramic pieces
  • Natural characteristics of materials such as timber, clay, or stone

These variations are inherent to the artistic process and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Such variations should not be considered defects or faults.

Product Photography

We make every effort to present our products as accurately as possible. However, due to differences in:

  • screen displays
  • lighting conditions during photography
  • natural material characteristics

the colours and finishes of the final product may vary slightly from those shown on our website.

Framing and Presentation

Some artworks displayed on our website may include digitally applied frames or styling examples to demonstrate how the artwork may appear when framed or displayed.

Actual frames, finishes, and materials may vary slightly depending on the framing process and supplier availability.

Ownership of Original Pieces

Once an original piece has been sold, M Terra does not guarantee the availability of identical or similar pieces in the future. Customers are encouraged to secure artwork they love while it is available.
